The second season of HBO’s hit series House of the Dragon is in pre-production at Leavesden Studios and is gearing up for filming very soon. Much has been speculated about the exact filming dates, and it seems that the early reports from last year were accurate.
House of the Dragon Season 2 is aiming for a March 2023 start
According to Production List, one of several production listing websites, House of the Dragon is currently aiming at a March 6, 2023 filming start. Filming is expected to start in Leavesden Studios, UK and Caceres, Spain is also an anticipated Season 2 location from, reportedly from March to June.
These dates are never rock solid and are always subject to change, as we know from experience, but the closer the date, the more certain it is, and House of the Dragon seems fairly solid now. Even if something changes in the next four weeks, it would hardly be by much.
Just recently we found out about a Targaryen-looking child wanted for April-June filming.
When will House of the Dragon Season 2 wrap filming?
According to our own sources, the current target window for the end of Season 2 filming is September/October 2023. For comparison, the first season of House of the Dragon took 11 months to film, while Season 2 is only aiming for 7-8. It appears that they are aiming to be more time-efficient this time around.
But again, these dates are always subject to change and many things can happen between now and then during the production. 7 months can easily become more, as we all know.
To recap some other news, here’s a potentially spoilery audition for a man, who sounds like Cheese of the infamous Blood and Cheese duo.
