We are about a month away from when cameras start rolling for the fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher, which will introduce Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill. As preparations are ongiong, we are starting to get more and more information. Today we have a new director.
Sergio Mimica-Gezzan joins the directing team of The Witcher Season 4
Veteran TV director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan has joined The Witcher Season 4. His credits include such series from the 2000s as Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Prison Break as well as more recently Medici, The Terror, For All Mankind and more. In addition, Mimica-Gezzan was assistant director in Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan.
It’s unclear, thought, whether the Croatian director has joined for only Season 4 or Season 5 as well. Both are planned to film back-to-back and Mimica-Gezzan could be working on both.
For that reason, he could be directing either only two episodes in Season 4, or four episodes across both seasons as The Witcher directors usually are given blocks of two episodes per season. But those details we’ll learn later.
As reported earlier, we will also likely get a first look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia next month.
