The second season of House of the Dragon is currently filming in Spain and there’s already a great amount of news and tidbits coming out of there. For instance, we know that the aftermaths of two major deaths have been filmed there already.
Among the cast there are Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Phia Saban (Helaena Targaryen), Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), Luke Tittensor (Erryk Cargyll) and Freddie Fox (Gwayne Hightower). But there are new people as well, so let’s take a look at them and not only them.
Anna Francolini joins House of the Dragon Season 2
Before we get to the new cast in Spain, let’s take a detour to Leavesden Studios. We have learned that Anna Francolini (Solo: A Star Wars Story, Rome) has joined House of the Dragon Season 2 and has been recently filming at Leavesden Studios.
Who could she be playing? We don’t know, but we’ll allow ourselves to speculate in the following section. House of the Dragon aged both Viserys Targaryen and Aemma Arryn up in the first season with Sian Brooke being 41 when it was filmed.
Then, later in the season Rhaenyra mentions Jeyne Arryn and refers to her as “her mother’s cousin”. Keep in mind that many years have passed since Aemma’s death as well.
We believe there is a possibility that Anna Francolini, 49, plays Jeyne Arryn in House of the Dragon Season 2. We could be wrong in this speculation but some of the factors fit rather well.
Scroobius Pip and Ralph Davis identified from photos
Pip seems to be playing a higher standing person, possibly the herald which we are hearing during the funeral procession. He is accompanied by Davis’ character along with two others, who we haven’t been able to identify just yet.
In the following photo we see the trio of younger men clearer:
The clearest we can see the young men are when they met House of the Dragon fans in Caceres. Here we see Ralph Davis with Phia Saban, Freddie Fox and several fans.
More potential House of the Dragon cast
In addition to the aforementioned actors, we also suspect Ellora Torchia (In the Earth, The Gold) to have joined the cast of House of the Dragon. Which role we can’t say, but she was just leaving Spain at the time of writing.
On top of that, Twitter user King_Maegor (who has also identified Davis before we were able to finish this article) suggested that one of Aegon’s Kingsguard is played by Vincent Regan. It’s blurry, but it does look like him.
