By Netflix has been rather radio-silent regarding the third season of The Witcher, even though it’s coming this Summer and it’s almost May outside. Nonetheless, we still keep finding out new things.
The Professor in The Witcher Season 3
We have learned that Ralf Blunden aka The Professor will be played by Sunny Patel (Vox Machinae, Warhammer 40K games) in The Witcher Season 3. He is set to appear in one of the early episodes of the upcoming season.
In Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Contempt, The Professor and his cutthroat colleagues are hot on the heels of Yennefer and Ciri until one fateful day, they enter a certain inn in the Temerian town of Anchor… and find Geralt instead.
After an intense scene in the book, Geralt has one of his coolest lines in the entire series. We very much hope the show has kept it.
In fact, an audition tape for a character we suspected to be The Professor was one of the first things we recall reporting about The Witcher Season 3, back in February 2022. After 14 months, it’s confirmed that it was indeed The Professor.
In other news, Freya Allan recorder a little video with a funny story from the set of The Witcher Season 3. She recalls that during their shoot in the Sahara desert, there was often wind and sometimes script pages would fly away.
She jokes that they might still be there for those interested in reading the next season.
As far as official news go, executive producer Tomek Baginski asked the fans to have a little more patience and that “more will be coming soon”.
