The Witcher Season 3 to film in Wales

After Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and England, Season 3 of The Witcher is adding another country to its resume: Wales. It will join Hungary, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Spain and England from the first two seasons, which means Wales will be the eleventh country to host the Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan Netflix series.

Director Gandja Monteiro shared on her Instagram that the crew were scouting a number of locations in Wales along with director of photography Dale McCready (The Last Kingdom, Tin Star, Merlin). Monteiro is presumably directing two episodes in the middle of the season. Either 3 and 4, or 5 and 6.

It is currently unclear when the cast and crew will go to Wales for filming, but it shouldn’t be too long. A few weeks at most.

At the moment, The Witcher is filming what looks like Belleteyn at the Epping Forest and we have some photos of the camp, so do take a look!

Filming for The Witcher Season 3 is ecpected to end in late August or early September. Stay tuned to Redanian Intelligence and do pop into our discord server to join in on The Witcher conversation.

  1. Thanks for all the news RI, my heart breaks that I can’t be excited but after the direction they went in s2 I have no faith in Lauren. She destroyed some of the best stories in The Witcher and BoE. It will need a miracle and a lot of inputs from Henry to fix her mess!
