By Yesterday, photographers grabbed several pictures of Henry Cavill’s Geralt and Royce Pierresen’s Istredd filming The Witcher season two in Frensham, England. Today, we have details of a new scene filmed in the same location with the show’s leading female stars: Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan, our Yennefer and Ciri. Cavill, who we previously believed to be in this scene, is reportedly not on location at this point. We have also obtained a transcript of the dialogue in the scene, including some MAJOR SPOILERS.
Our local source Sara Talib has informed us that Cavill was not, in fact, on location, and the scene involved Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer and Freya Allan’s Ciri. This correction comes after Talib has gotten closer to the cast and crew. Seeing as this is the exact same location that was used yesterday, it’s possible that Geralt and Istredd are nearby (but not in this scene), or that this location will stand for two different areas in the Continent.
Talib watched the cast and crew as they filmed this scene and, besides filming and taking pictures, she was able to hear some of Yennefer and Ciri’s lines. We have the updated dialogue below. Keep in mind these could be MAJOR SPOILERS, so proceed at your own discretion. Remember that we don’t know the full context of this scene, and while it’s fun to speculate, it’s also bit premature to jump to any conclusions just yet.
Yennefer: He is not here. He never was.
Ciri: You betrayed us. We were in trouble and needed your help.
Yennefer: I was selfish, stupid. Come with me, get the horses. Now!
After this exchange, Ciri and Yennefer run to their horses. It’s not quite clear who Yennefer and Ciri are waiting for, but we think it’s Geralt. The mention of a betrayal is quite surprising, as nothing of the sort occurred in the novels. We hope Yennefer’s “betrayal” is not related to the Nilfgaardian soldiers gathered near the location. It’s possible, Ciri was just expecting to meet Geralt and holds Yennefer reponsible for his absence.
What is Yennefer’s “betrayal”? Have Yennefer and Ciri been set up by a third party loyal to Nilfgaard? What exactly is happening in this scene? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below or on our Twitter page, while we are waiting for more updates from the set.
Yes! More Geralt and Yen ❤️ It’s what I’m signed for! Their scenes last season were excellent so I can’t wait now that the plot is even more intense.
Hmm, maybe they are ambushed by Nilfgaard and they have to rush to save Ciri. This is why Yen latter takes Ciri under her wings and trains her in Ellander and Geralt leaves to learns who is after her. Idk where Istredd fits in this. He seemed sympathetic with Nilfgaard last time we saw him and Stregobor definatelly will side with them. So maybe he’s using Istredd and his foundings of the prophecy to bait Yen and Geralt in order to locate Ciri and they are all attacked from Nilfgaardian soldiers. Very interesting dialogue and scene. OMG, what is happening? Are they set up? Did Yen wanted to give Ciri to the mages but changed her mind? Was she set up from Istredd and they ended up where the Nilfgardiaans are? Did she thought they’d meet Geralt? Our Witcher now needs to go and rescue his girls!!!
Maybe Yen is being set up by a Nilfgaard sympathetic aka Istredd (it won’t be the first time and we know the show loves to parallel situations) and now they are in trouble. Maybe the scene with Geralt and Istredd is from latter when they are looking for them. Idk. It’s all so confusing but it’s fun to speculate. I wonder if this scene is earlier than the other scene of Yen and Ciri or a continuation of that other scene. And when the scene of Geralt and Yen riding together takes place. Do they capture Ciri and they run to save her?
Ciri took after her father of surprise, it was logical for someone to mistaken them 😊The scenes sounds intriguing but I’m hoping for some quality family time.
It would be interest to see what that betrayal is gonna be. Is Yen plans to give Ciri to Nilfgaard bc they promised her what she wants more? Fransesca is pregnant, could it be that they give her hope? Whatever it is – if that person listened right – I bet she’ll regret it and that will be the beginning of their bond. Also, it can be something simpler like she promised her she’ll see Geralt and lied but IDK if that counts as betrayal. I guess we’ll see. Interesting scene nevertheless. I can’t wait for more scenes between Geralt, Yen and Ciri and them to become a family.
