New confirmation of Emma Appleton replacing Millie Brady as Renfri

It has been more than two months since the ever-reliable NSFW blog Recapped shared the information that Millie Brady would no longer be playing Renfri in The Witcher. We at Redanian Intelligence made our investigations and placed our bets, and now Recapped strike again: yes, Emma Appleton is Renfri.

Redanian Intelligence first made the suggestion that Emma could be playing Renfri on May 8 based on social media activity. Later, on June 1, we uncovered evidence about both Packy Lee (new Nohorn?) and Emma Appleton being trained by a new stunt co-ordinator who was brought into the project only for the Pilot reshoots, making our educated guess look more likely.

This information is not yet official, but we have very good reasons to believe Recapped – as they have never been wrong. On The Witcher alone, they gave us Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Henry Cavill as Geralt, and Millie Brady as Renfri, among other casting tidbits.

As for other fantasy projects, they were the very first to report the casting of Naomi Watts in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel and Rosamund Pike as Moiraine in Amazon’s Wheel of Time adaptation. As you can tell, their track record is rock-solid.

Are you excited about this casting? We certainly are – and Emma very much looks the part. We’ll be able to witness her bringing the deadly princess Renfri to life on December 20, 2019, according to another report from Recapped.

  1. She was recast because of chemistry issues between her and another actor, the producers didn’t feel Millie brady was a good enough actor.

  2. She’s great in the just-released trailer (though many commenters seem to be confusing her with Yen)
