By The second season of HBO’s hit series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is currently in production with a few weeks of filming left to do. Some of the new cast has already been announced, while a lot yet to discover. Today we have someone from Dorne.
Kathryn Hunter cast as Lady Vaith
We’ve learned that actress Kathryn Hunter has been cast as the Dornish noblewoman Lady Vaith in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2. Although the character’s first name isn’t mentioned, it is suspected she’s Cassella Vaith.
It is mentioned that Dunk and Egg meet Lady Vaith during their time in Dorne, between The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword. Dunk said something to anger the lady and later the duo recall that they could have been killed for that. Now it seems that we’ll see what exactly happened there.
It will also be the first time since Game of Thrones that we’ll see Dorne on our screens, although admittedly many in the fandom would prefer not to be reminded of that version of Dorne.
Kathryn Hunter’s filmography includes such projects as Harry Potter, Andor, Poor Things, Rome and more.
In other news, showrunner Ira Parker revealed that George R. R. Martin gave him some unpublished material from Dunk and Egg series.
