The second season of HBO’s hit House of the Dragon starring Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith and Olivia Cooke is currently in full production in Wales with about 10 more days to go. Thanks to locals, we can now see some of the new cast and confirm their roles.
Clinton Liberty as Addam Velaryon

We first mentioned the possibility of Clinton Liberty joining the cast of House of the Dragon Season 2 back in April and now he finally has been spotted on set.
It’s our understanding that he is indeed playing Addam Velaryon. Liberty was photographed at the Llanddwyn Beach.

We see Addam and his double on the beach, kneeling, walking, without armor or swords, just a shirt and a dagger. Here’s the full gallery:

Kieran Bew as Hugh Hammer

One of the very first new cast members for House of the Dragon Season 2 that has been rumored is Kieran Bew (Warrior).
There were many speculations about his role, weirdly including Cregan Stark despite his age, but now it seems 99.9% likely that Bew is playing Hugh Hammer, one of the Dragonseeds.
He was photographed with others this week on set in full costume and wig Llanddwyn Beach, Wales. But he isn’t the only one.

Leon Ockenden possibly as Ulf the White

Another actor that was photographed filming the same scene is possibly Leon Ockenden (The Lair, Mr. Selfridge). He was identified by our friends HotD Croatia.
Both Ockenden and Bew seem to have shared the same scene, although there were more people seen with them and it’s all too blurry to say for certain. Some speculated that the girl next to them may be Nettles, but we don’t think that’s likely.
Here’s more photos from this scene:

More from Wales
Aside from that, we have another scene photographed. This time we don’t see the actor clearly, but we do see a dragon. Or more precisely a giant blue head carried by two blue men, which will later become a dragon. The shape reminds of Rhaenyra’s Syrax, but it’s hard to tell.

In other news, Parker Lapaine has been cast in an unknown role in House of the Dragon Season 2. She most likely has participated in the recent week of filming.

Meanwhile, scorpions at Dinorwig Quarry

All the while the rest has been happening, preparations have been made at the Dinorwig Quarry. Filming will begin there soon.
We don’t know what exactly will be filmed there, but we can clearly see a scorpion, a device quite effective against dragons. Will this be the Battle of Rook’s Rest? Not long until we find out!
