It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for the Witcher fandom ever since Netflix announced Henry Cavill would be replaced by Liam Hemsworth in The Witcher‘s fourth season. More and more peculiar news are coming out and this one is definitely one of them.

The most recent wave of discussions in the Witcher fandom follows Collider‘s reveal that Philippa and Dijkstra will appear have a peculiar intimate relationship in Season 3.

To be more precise, it appears that Season 3 will reveal that Dijkstra and Philippa will be getting a little kinky, with Philippa as the dominatrix wielding a whip, and Dijkstra getting off by being submissive.

On our end, as far as we’ve been told, this helps Dijkstra clear his head or reduce stress or something along those lines. It isn’t clear whether there is more to this relationship or if we’ll see this scene without further elaboration. Sometimes it’s difficult to decipher the purpose of certain scenes.

It must be said that the books did imply a relationship between Dijkstra and Philippa in the past, although its sexual nature was never explored outright.

Also, in the books, Philippa is said to have “lost her taste in men” long ago, and she uses Dijkstra’s love for her to manipulate him and get what she wants.

But fans worrying that Philippa may be straight in the show can rest assured that this is not the case. Philippa will have a lover in Season 3 in the form of royal handmaid Eva played by Cal Watson.

The Witcher Season 4 is in production for a 2025 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book has a planned Winter 2024/2025 release with The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep anime set for a late 2024 release as well.
