Anya Chalotra spoke to SFX Magazine and reflected on the emotions she felt about the whole story:

I was really sad. I may have shed a tear. It’s a journey we have been on together for a long time, all of us. Especially in my career, The Witcher has been the biggest thing I have done. It’s the project that started me off.

Henry was a huge part of that. He’s a crucial member of the show and I will miss him dearly.

Earlier, Chalotra spoke to Entertainment Weekly as well:

The news was… yeah, it’s hard to take because he’s a crucial part of the show and we all adore him. So, we’re gonna miss him a lot. I wish him all the best.”

Mecia Simson weighs in as well

Speaking to A Trip to the Movie Podcast with Alex Zane, Mecia Simson also spoke about the Henry Cavill news that forever changed The Witcher.

[Henry] just got everything, like the look, the voice he uses, he’s got the charisma for him. He just is The Witcher, everything about him.”

She continued her thoughts on the matter, thankful for the past and optimistic about the future:

Obviously, it’s—I was very shocked when I found out because we’ve done three seasons with him. Obviously it’s sad because it’s the end of an era but that’s okay, and I think, you know, what comes next—there’s gonna be more exciting things that will happen.

I think the show is still gonna be great and I think we’re grateful for the time we did have him. I don’t think it’s going to affect the show that much, I think everything is gonna be okay; it’ll be a nice transition and I think Liam is gonna do a great job. It’s a happy-sad kind of feeling.”

Liam Hemsworth is expected to pick up the armor and swords this September, when The Witcher Season 4 is expected to enter production.

The Witcher Season 4 is in production for a 2025 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book has a planned Winter 2024/2025 release with The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep anime set for a late 2024 release as well.
