By The Witcher‘s much anticipated third season will debut its first five episodes on Netflix on June 29, with its second volume releasing on July 27. Now that new Witcher content is on the horizon, Netflix is ramping up its admittedly slow marketing campaign, starting with the full-length Season 3 trailer which will premiere during the Summer Games Fest on Thursday, June 8.
But here at Redanian Intelligence, we specialize in more than just official news, and today we have some good news for fans of Geralt and Yennefer.
Season 3 will feature a Geralt and Yennefer argument ripped straight from the books
Following a report from our sources, we can confirm that Season 3 will include a fan-favorite moment from Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Contempt.
Although this scene places Geralt and Yennefer‘s complex relationship at the center stage, what made this scene memorable in the books is that we read it through Ciri‘s point of view, and what’s more: Jaskier is there too.
We won’t ruin the exact details for fans who have yet to read the novels, but let’s just say that Geralt and Yennefer have an emotional reunion that is quite “stormy”, and quickly evolves into an argument. Ciri and Jaskier are overlooking this argument, and they give their own interpretation of it, which is simultaneously hilarious and heart-warming.

As fans of the show will remember, Season 2 ended with a very low point in Geralt and Yennefer’s relationship, with Geralt literally placing his sword against Yennefer’s throat. That whole storyline involving the demon Voleth Meir was an original creation of the show, so the writers had to set their relationship back on track early in Season 3 to realign the characters with the books.
It seems that this scene, in addition to the moments mentioned in our earlier report, will be crucial to reset the Geralt and Yennefer relationship and allow the lovers to reconcile.
