By The second season of Netflix’s hit series Shadow and Bone starring Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes has long been wrapped and is currently deep into post-production, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep learning new things about it. This time we have several more cast members to unveil, some of which have very interesting connections to the ones we already saw in the first season.
Tommy Rodger is Jordie Rietveld, Kaz’s brother
First up is Tommy Rodger, who will portray Jordan or Jordie Rietveld. Jordie was the older brother to Kaz Brekker (Freddie Carter), whose original last name was Rietveld. The two moved to Ketterdam after their father died. It’s evident we’ll be seeing flashbacks featuring younger Kaz and Jordie in the second season of Shadow and Bone.
Tommy Rodger’s credits include The Alienist, London Kills and Victoria.
Rhoda Ofori-Attah is Aditi Hilli, Jesper’s mother
Another addition in the second season meant to explore the past of the Crows’ members is Rhoda Ofori-Attah, who is set to portray Aditi Hilli, the mother of Jesper Fahey (Kit Young). In the books, Aditi was very close with her son and she taught him many things, including how to shoot.
Rhoda Ofori-Attah has appeared in such series as Top Boy, Sex Education and will be appearing in the fourth season of Netflix’s YOU.
Alistair Nwachukwu is Adrik Zhabin, Nadia’s brother
Next up is stage actor Alistair Nwachukwu, who will be playing Adrik Zhabin in Shadow and Bone Season 2. Adrik is the younger brother of Nadia Zhabin, played by Gabrielle Brooks. This is another addition to the cast that has close ties to someone we’ve seen before, which means that Season 2 will dive deeper into the characters and their backstories.
Tumi Fani-Kayode as Miradi and Seamus O’Hara as Halsov
Next up we have Tumi Fani-Kayode, who will play a recurring character in Shadow and Bone named Miradi. As far as we’re aware, Miradi is an original character created for the series, so there isn’t much we can say about her.
Lastly, there is Seamus O’Hara who will play a character named Halsov. As with Miradi, Halsov also seems like an original character. Unlike her, though, Halsov sounds like a last name, so perhaps Halsov is a military figure, maybe an officer or someone else.
