Henry Cavill and Joey Batey Spotted Filming The Witcher Season 3

Filming for The Witcher Season 3 is in full swing in England, with the production being about halfway there before it wraps in September. But before that happens, we’ll have many moments to dish on when it comes to interesting info fresh from the frontlines and hopefully see Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and others.

Now filming has briefly moved out into locations again with Gandja Monteiro continuing her work on episodes 3 and 4.

She even shared a brief video from locations shoots in Surrey, and in doing so, revealed none other than Henry Cavill‘s Geralt of Rivia in the background. And just beside him is Joey Batey‘s Jaskier.

As you can see, Geralt is in his extremely recognizable shirt with sleeves and his wig as seen here:

The shirt especially is unmistakable from many moments of the previous seasons and most notably Blaviken.

We must say, this is a very rare occurrence to spot Joey Batey‘s Jaskier filming The Witcher. If our memory serves right, that hasn’t happened before, while majority of the remaining main cast have been spotted at least once on camera.

As for Joey Batey, you can spot him with his leather coat from last season, but as it’s presumably too hot, Batey is only wearing it on his arms between takes. Underneath is his shirt from last season, so no drastic costume changes here.

So what are they filming?

It’s pretty hard to speculate as the series takes plenty of liberties when getting inspiration from Andrzej Sapkowski’s books.

The approximate time of the events here is Time of Contempt, but that doesn’t narrow things down much. There was a section just before Thanedd near Loxia, when Geralt and Jaskier reunited with Yennefer and Ciri. Perhaps this is some original content leading to those events so they can happen in further episodes.

This could also suggest that Geralt has possibly split from Yennefer and Ciri and went on his own mission, after a few episodes together. Remember that we’ll also see The Professor and his gang in Season 3 as well as Codringher and Fenn.

Perhaps Geralt will follow his book counterpart and meet the detective duo to find out more about Ciri, after which he could be approached by The Professor, all in the middle of the season before Thanedd happens.

Whatever the case, we’re intrigued to find out more.

Here’s the full video from director Gandja Monteiro’s Instagram. As you can see, she’s on Day 18 of her filming.
