Netflix releases 26 new images of The Witcher Season 2 ahead of release

There’s only a week remaining before we get to see The Witcher Season 2 on Netflix and we are constantly getting new content is various forms. This time we have several brand new images of Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan as well as our first look at Graham McTavish as Dijkstra.

The Redanian Spymaster

First is of course our first look at Graham McTavish (The Hobbit, Outlander, House of the Dragon) as the iconic Sigismund Dijksta, the head of Redanian Intelligence. McTavish also voiced Deglan, Vesemir’s mentor earlier this year in The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf anime.

The family of three

Next up is our main trio of the series: Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri played by Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan respectively.

Friends of the family

We also have new looks at Joey Batey as Jaskier and Anna Shaffer as Triss:

Even more new shots of our favorites

We have Geralt and Ciri, Geralt and Tissaia at Sodden Hill, Geralt and Vesemir and in general more Geralt.

There’s also more shots with Yennefer:

A couple of first new looks at Ciri at the Temple of Melitele, Mother Nenneke and the temple itself.

We also have more new shots with sorceresses Triss, Fringilla and Tissaia

Additionally, there are two new shots of Kim Bodnia‘s Vesemir:

Not to forget Eamon Farren‘s Cahir, who is imprisoned presumably by Nilfgaard for failing his mission.

Finally thanks to these pictures, we have our first look at Kaine Zajaz as Francesca Findabair’s brother Gage, who is an original character made for the show.

And lastly, a beautiful and haunting piece of cinematography in The Witcher Season 2

Season 2 of The Witcher streams on Netflix on December 17, 2021. Follow Redanian Intelligence for more news!

  1. Wow more images, yes!. Geralt and Yen look particularly good. I want them to have scenes together in these outfits but it’s doudtful 😢. Also Dijkstra!!! 😍 Do you know if we can expect a new trailer?

  2. Anna Shaffer looks much more like game Triss in this still than in S1. Not so sure about Anya Chalotra’s look as Yennefer though but we’ll see.

  3. finally great casting with Graham MaCTavish. It would be great if they had charles dance as well, those two would actually make it next game of thrones

  4. A thought here: It might be that initially for season one, the role of Triss had been planned to be a Nenneke-Triss crossover, to later skip Nenneke and Ellander entirely. Could be that this was done to later save some time and potentially budget, when initially it had been uncertain how much of both will be available later. It seems there is now enough of both for seasons 2 and 3 to present Nenneke as a figure in her own right, thereby having Triss now positioned more closely as the character in the games and books, also in terms of looks. That is an improvement, but somehow one would have wished it had been like that from the very beginning.

  5. Great pics and thanks for posting them RI. I especially love Yen’s one. Can your sources confirm that Yen dreams of a domestic life with Geralt? We’re counting on your spy skills 😁 6 days and can’t wait.

  6. I am a bit confused as I read in one of the early reviews that Dijkstra is mostly talking to an owl. Does that mean we don’t get to see Philippa Eilhart in her more humanoid form in s2? Moreover, the reviewer mentioned Dijkstra being a mage, I hope the scripting is not deviating from the books and games in this regard.

  7. “Francesca Findabair’s brother Gage”? There isn’t any shortage of characters in TW already to an extent that viewers who don’t know the books or games are likely to get confused. Why then are new characters being invented in the show?
