The Witcher costume designer returns for Blood Origin prequel

Back in 2019 we revealed that Doctor Who and Henry VIII costume designer Lucinda Wright would be replacing Tim Aslam as the costume designer for The Witcher. Almost two years have passed and we will finally be able to see what she has in store for us in full scale on December 17.

We will almost certainly see some early glimpses of her work this week at the Lucca Comics & Games Festival where Wright will attend The Witcher panel along with Lauren Hissrich, Kim Bodnia, Joey Batey and production designer Andrew Laws.

But her work didn’t end with Season 2 as Wright is also the costume designer for The Witcher: Blood Origin. Production for the prequel limited series is in its last stretches with filming expected to wrap in mid-late November for a 2022 release date.

So far we only have a small glimpse of the Blood Origin costumes in a set photo of Lenny Henry‘s Chief Druid Balor. Here’s that picture along with some other Season 2 costumes that we can see from teasers and set photos:

Lucca Comics & Games is on October 29 and we can’t wait to find out if there’s a trailer waiting for us at the end of this week!
