Behind the scenes photos of Ciri’s nightmares, and a mysterious figure in The Witcher Season 2

The last leg of the filming of The Witcher season 2 continues in Arborfield Studios, and while the main leads Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan continue filming, many others have wrapped the season. The cast and crew have been meeting the press and everything seems set to wrap filming by the very last days of March.

Meanwhile, we have come across some very interesting behind-the-scenes photos pertaining to Ciri’s nightmares and/or visions. The first photo shows Freya Allan (Ciri) in her Season 1 costume and the second is a mysterious figure wearing a cloak. The red lighting is very reminiscent of Ciri’s nightmares in Season 1 and we believe these are scenes of her visions in Season 2.

For a moment we did believe these were maybe a throwback to Season 1, but then we took a closer look and saw the face masks, something we never had to wear in our old lives back in the day.

And a closer look at Ciri

Then we have the mysterious shadowy figure. Is that someone Ciri knows or will know eventually? Maybe this is a man who is dancing on the barrows of his enemies? Or is that a woman? Very hard to tell.

Ciri’s visions are recurring themes in the books with some of them taking the form of prophecies. Season 1 did not explore the theme too much with most of Ciri’s visions being nightmares.

We are curious to learn how this vital theme will be handled in Season 2. And who is this mysterious figure? What role does this person play in Ciri’s life? While these questions will definitely be answered before the end of 2021 when Season 2 airs, we are curious to know your thoughts on it.

Parts of Season 2 are already in post-production, and the season is expected to stream in the second half of 2021. Stay tuned to Redanian Intelligence for more filming updates.
