Here’s what you can expect from The Witcher’s marketing in December

On December 20, The Witcher, Netflix’s upcoming fantasy drama starring Henry Cavill, will be launching it’s first eight-episode season on Netflix. Promising to be one of the holiday season’s most anticipated series, Netflix will make sure that no one can escape the show’s marketing during the month of release. From billboards and posters to interviews and new footage, fans of the series are in for an exciting build-up to the first season’s.release. We’ve recapped everything you can expect below.

IGN First’s month of behind-the-scenes coverage

Throughout the month (both before and after the show releases), IGN promises to share exclusive behind-the-scenes material including footage from the Battle of Sodden, interviews with the cast and more. Take a look at their teaser above.

Dec 3: Henry Cavill to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live

On Tuesday, December 3, star Henry Cavill will be promoting the show on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The talk-show will host our Geralt of Rivia at 11:35pm Eastern Time on, ABC.

Dec 3: The Witcher Fan Experience in Los Angeles, California

That same day, The Witcher will be hosting a massive “fan experience” in Los Angeles, which includes an early screening (presumably of the first episode). Here’s Netflix’s description of the event.

On December 3rd, THE WITCHER arrives in Los Angeles for an exclusive, one-night only event where you’ll be among the very first to see the epic new series before it hits Netflix and take part in a fan experience immersing you into the world of the show.

Before the screening, you’ll enter The Continent for the ultimate fan fest that includes photo opps, giveaways, trivia, interactive stations and an immersive walk-through experience that transports you inside the world of The Witcher. Following the experience, you’ll be among the very first to see the show weeks before it hits Netflix on December 20.

Timing for the event is outlined below – please select only one of the experiences when signing up. Note that more details will be sent to you after registration including specific arrival instructions.

Dec 7: Henry Cavill at Argentina Comic Con

On Saturday, December 7, Cavill will take to Buenos Aires’ Argentina Comic Con to promote the show. With luck, we’ll have agents on the field to report and live-tweet the show’s panel, which begins 1:00pm local time.

Dec 12: Showrunner Lauren Hissrich and Henry Cavill at The Witcher’s Premiere in Manila, Philippines

Just a few days later, The Witcher‘s promotion will send Henry Cavill across the sea to the other side of the world. In Manila, Philippines, the show will be hosting another event akin to the one in Los Angeles, which Cavill will attend. On a first-come first-served basis, fans will be able to get some Witcher merchandise and even enjoy the screening of the series premiere. The Witcher experience in Manila will last from December 10 to 13, with Cavill and showrunner Lauren Hissrich joining on December 12 (time undisclosed).

Dec 14: Stars Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan host a panel at Madrid’s Heroes Comic-Con

On Saturday, December 14 The Witcher‘s leading ladies Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra will attend Heroes Comic-Con in Madrid, Spain. They will be hosting a Q&A between 1:40pm and 2:20pm local time.

Dec 16: The Witcher Premiere in London

On December 16, just a few days before the show’s launch on Netflix, The Witcher‘s core cast and crew will arrive at London’s S for the series first red-carpet premiere. Among the cast will be Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich is also to attend. A number of lucky fans were also selected.

Dec 18: The Witcher’s premiere in Warsaw, Poland

Two days after the premiere in London, the series’ stars will join the showrunner and Polish-born Executive Producer Tomek Baginski for a second premiere in The Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski‘s homeland. It is as yet unconfirmed if Sapkowski will join the cast and crew for the Warsaw premiere, but we would be surprised if he doesn’t show up.

Dec 20: Henry Cavill on the Graham Norton show alongside Star Wars stars

The day of the season one release, Cavill will join Star Wars cast-members John Boyega and Daisy Ridley as a guest in the Graham Norton Show. The show airs in 10:40pm GMT on the BBC.

Dec 20: The Witcher season one releases worldwide on Netflix

On December 20, 12:00am California time, The Witcher‘s entire first season will launch worldwide on Netflix. And then, the Great Binge will begin.

Other than these events, it’s likely Netflix will release new footage of the show (in the form of teasers, trailers, clips or stills). We can also expect another wave of interviews featuring the stars and the showrunner, as many unreleased interviews were filmed during the show’s production.
