The Witcher’s showrunner reveals new behind-the-scenes Cintra stills

Two new behind-the-scenes pictures of Cintra have been revealed by Lauren S Hissrich, showrunner of Netflix’s The Witcher. The stills feature actress Freya Allan (Ciri), Jodhi May (Queen Calanthe), Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (King Eist Tuirseach) and Adam Levy (Mousesack).

The new stills show a feast in the Great Hall of Cintra and were posted on the r/NetflixWitcher Reddit community.

The showrunner said these would be the first in a series of threads sharing pictures from her archive.

Hissrich explained: “One of the perks of being the showrunner, I’ve learned, is that no one ever tells me I can’t take pictures! So I have seven months of gorgeousness to share, and I want to do it here.

“Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything. All photos will be of people or places you’ve already seen in the teaser or trailer.”

The first still shows the knighting ceremony in Cintra from the perspective of the throne.

It’s captioned: “Cintra’s Great Hall was our biggest set build. We joked about hosting Witcher-themed weddings in it!”

The second image shows the royal family at feast, with Freya Allan and co. at the top table.

Hissrich said: “Fun fact: those extras were eventually broomed out of the shot, so our royal family could have the spotlight to themselves.”

If these shots have your hunger levels rising, Part III of our Redanian Archives series covered the filming of Cintra’s Great Hall. Here’s a link to that!
