By HBO’s new Game of Thrones spinoff called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms launches in January 2026 and its starts started giving interviews for it. In one of them, Peter Claffey, who plays Duncan the Tall, spoke about one of his inspirations for Dunk.
“A less sexy, less charismatic Geralt of Rivia”
Speaking to Nerdist, Peter Claffey mentioned The Witcher and Henry Cavill as an inspiration for his rendition of Dunk: “That first season of The Witcher with Henry Cavill, my brother!“
He continued: “To be honest with you, I’ve told myself that I’m not allowed to have a PlayStation. I do not get anything done. But I went home for a while after and watched my brother play The Witcher 3. And I watched The Witcher. But Henry Cavill’s Geralt, I feel, there is this kind of this comparison where it’s like Dunk, he’s kind of a less sexy, less confident, less charismatic Geralt of Rivia.“
The first season of Dunk is just a little away, so next month we’ll see just how much Peter had inspiration from The Witcher.
In other Dunk news, young actor Bamber Todd will play a young version of Dunk in flashbacks A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
