Netflix’s The Witcher is in the second half of filming its very last season with not long left to go. While we still don’t know when Season 4 will air, we continuously learn new things about the two final seasons in which Liam Hemsworth will make his debut as Geralt of Rivia replacing Henry Cavill. This time it’s a sequence we had doubts would make it in the show.
Geralt, Avallac’h and the knocker

Can you imagine Liam Hemsworth being carried by big hairy creature on piggyback? We won’t have to imagine as that scene from the books is being adapted in The Witcher as we’ve learned that actor and creature performer Adam Basil (The Last of Us, Venom, Rings of Power) will be portraying the knocker, a subspecies of kobolds.
What happens in Andrzej Sapkowski’s books is that Geralt meets the elf Avallac’h in a cave at Mount Gorgon. They have an interesting conversation there, but afterwards Geralt needs to get down from that mountain to rejoin the Hansa.
The knocker has Geralt riding on its back and they descend from the mountain, although the ride isn’t perfectly smooth making for a very entertaining sequence. Geralt surely thoroughly enjoys that.
This obviously also indicates that Avallac’h is returning in the final seasons of The Witcher. We’re still confirming who will portray him, though. Avallac’h was played by Samuel Blenkin in The Witcher: Blood Origin, but that miniseries had also a different actor playing Eredin. Jacob Collins-Levy played Eredin in Blood Origin, while the main show had Sam Hazeldine.

We’ll keep investigating, meanwhile The Witcher Season 5 has only several weeks left to film. The end is near.
The Witcher Season 5 is in post-production for a 2026 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
