Production for The Witcher‘s final season started in South Africa this March and continued through England’s Longcross Studios, its surrounding areas in Surrey and popped in Wales for a short while. Now after months, the first two blocks of filming are complete.

The Witcher has a very evenly divided block structure to each season with each director being given two episodes. This weekend, the crew celebrated the completion on block 2, meaning 4 out of 8 episodes of the final season are done.

Filming for The Witcher Season 5 is scheduled to wrap in September 2025, so only three months left for the final two blocks aka the second half of the season.

The first two episodes of Season 5 are directed by Jeremy Webb, who filmed the final two episodes of Season 4, as well as episodes for series like The Last of Us, The Umbrella Academy, The Punisher and more.

The second block of The Witcher Season 5 was helmed by Christopher Clark Cowan, who is also the fight designer for the final two seasons. His directing credits include The Acolyte, Miguel Wants to Fight and more.

The Witcher Season 5 is in post-production for a 2026 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
