The Witcher has wrapped its filming in South Wales for Season 3 and the crew is now returning to England to continue working on the new episodes at Longcross Studios.

The last location in Wales were the beautiful hills of Brecon Beacons, where photographers managed to capture Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Chris Fulton in a major fight.

Speaking of major fights, check out photos of Geralt fighting Vilgefortz that were taken earlier this week:

Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri fight Rience

The big and most obvious takeaway here is that the fiery mage Rience somehow catches up with our main trio and a fight ensues. That’s not something which happens in the books, so it’s new territory here. This is a very quick reunion of our main trio with Rience as they just fought in the sixth episode of Season 2.

As we can see, both Geralt and Ciri have swords, which means Ciri will finally put her skills to test on a human.

In another shot, though, Yennefer is carrying a sword on her back. She did fight with swords in Season 1, but now that she has her powers back, she’s more likely to use that which is more powerful against a mage – magic.

At one point during the fight, Rience traps Ciri in a circle of fire, hence the burnt grass around her in the picture above.

The fight choreographer is, of course, Wolfgang Stegemann, who we can see conversing and laughing with Henry Cavill between takes. We can see Stegemann in the above photo as well, in the right corner. He famously choreographed the Blaviken fight scene, so we’re certainly happy he’s back!

We can also see a man, who looks like director Loni Peristere. Peristere is helming episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher Season 3.

A good look on some of the Season 3 outfits

While nothing groundbreakingly new, we can see a few little updates here and there on our favorite characters’ clothes. Except for Geralt, of course. Or perhaps like a traditional man, he maybe has several copies of the same shirt, while others think he always wears the same one.

Does Rience meet his fate here?

The Daily Mail in the article claims that “the prosthetic-clad actor fell to an apparent death”. Which means Rience, of course.

That probably should be taken with a grain of salt, given that the paper infamously called Tom Canton’s Filavandrel as “Henry Cavill double”, but Netflix killing off a character prematurely in The Witcher wouldn’t be anything new. We all remember Eskel, after all.

Still, in the books, Rience is a significant kill for Ciri in one of the most thrilling sequences of the entire series, where ice-skating is involved.

In fact, we can see Rience’s hand in blood. Are his fingers gone? That’s something that Ciri does in the aforementioned sequence as well.
