Amazon’s The Wheel of Time casts Danish actress for Season 2

Amazon Prime’s The Wheel of Time is one of the most anticipated upcoming fantasy shows, starring an ensemble cast lead by Rosamund Pike. While fans are still waiting for an exact release for season one, filming on the second season has already begun in July with Thomas Napper (Jawbone, World on Fire) as a new director.

It has been a while but you may remember our previous coverage of casting news, such as last year’s addition of several characters, one of which turned into somewhat of an internet meme. While we don’t have word on a possible comeback of Steve, today’s news may be interesting to Wheel of Time fans, as Amazon has added a new cast member to its Season Two roster.

Danish actress Salle Salée has joined the cast in Prague and is currently filming an as yet unknown part for Season Two of The Wheel of Time. Having previously appeared in a few Danish productions, such as the murder mystery The Sommerdahl Murders, The Wheel of Time will be her first major international series.

Per a recent tweet from her agency, Salée has been in Prague since July, approximately coinciding with the start of filming. Recent activity suggests that she might have been filming scenes with cast members Madeleine Madden (Egwene al’Vere) and Kate Fleetwood (Liandrin Guirale), but take this with a grain of salt.

While her role remains unknown for the time being, there are more than enough characters in Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time universe for her to play, and the community will no doubt come up with a few interesting theories.

On a different note, we can also confirm a Season One role for The Wheel of Time. Swedish actress Evelyn Mok, whose involvement in the series was made public by wotseries.com plays a Yellow Sister of the Aes Sedai. The Yellow Adjah of the powerful, all female group is dedicated to the study of healing in case anyone needed a reminder.

The Wheel of Time will release on Amazon Prime sometime in November 2021. With a trailer on the horizon and filming for Season Two underway, we’re hopeful that more casting news are coming our way shortly. Stay tuned!
