The Witcher: Blood Origin adds Michelle Yeoh to its cast

With only a few days until WitcherCon, Netflix announced another major addition to Blood Origin, the prequel that will be set 1200 years before the original series.

BAFTA nominee Michelle Yeoh, known for many of her roles throughout her prolific career, will be playing the sword-wielding character named Scian in The Witcher: Blood Origin. Since Yeoh has a wide variety of films and TV series where we can see her wield a sword with style, power and finesse, she is a perfect fit for such a character.

As seen in THR, Scian is described as “the very last of her nomadic tribe of sword-elves. No one can come close to her artistry with the blade, and no one carries as much loss within their heart. When a chance presents itself to retrieve a stolen sacred sword, taken from her fallen tribe by nefarious means, she launches herself into a deadly quest that will change the outcome of the Continent.”

We ourselves have also come to know that Scian is the swordmaster of Eile, one of the leads who had to be recast due to scheduling issues.

As we speculated before, we have reasons to believe that Sophia Brown may be the one to replace Jodie Turner-Smith as Eile.

Only a few days remaining until WitcherCon and we can’t wait to see what’s waiting for us around the corner.
