Some time has passed since we last heard anything from The Witcher: Blood Origin, the six-part limited series spinoff that was announced by Netflix earlier this year. Now, thanks to NSFW blog Recapped, which has an impeccable track record as far as The Witcher leaks are concerned, we can report some very exciting rumors.
The site’s newest entry reads:
Here are some rumored casting news for The Witcher: Blood Origin limited series. There are two female leads: Eile “The Lark” Lithe and Princess Merwyn. Eile is in her mid-20s and muscular while Merwyn is slightly younger. Filming is supposed to take place some time between May and December of next year.

While Recapped is clear about the fact that these are rumors, it’s safe to assume they are substantiated. The character news in itself is really interesting: Eile ‘The Lark’ seems to hint at an elven origin, while princess Merwyn may be a royal from one of the predecessor kingdoms of the current Northern Realms. Keep in mind, that The Witcher: Blood Origin is set hundreds of years before the events of the main show.
Also interesting is the planned shoot period from May to December 2021. While it is much to early to make any projections, this could indicate we’ll be getting The Witcher: Blood Origin sometime in 2022.
It was previously speculated that Aquaman star Jason Momoa is in talks with Netflix to play the male lead in The Witcher: Blood Origin. Now we have character descriptions for two female leads. What do you think of this news? Leave your thoughts in the comments below or on our twitter.
Why does it always have to be females that are 20 something or younger? I mean, seriously! I want to see a heroine in her late 30s or 40s for a change! So tired of this bs. 🙄
It is what it is, women are biologicaly most atractive in 20 and men in 30-40. Plus actors in first roles are allways cheaper, and i dont know talent actress who start so late in her life.
Ummm Charlize Theron in The Old Guard?
Theron is one of the 50 most expensive actresses in the world.
But she’s already complaining in magazines that she can’t find a good guy.
So you mean women like Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween or Sigourney Weaver in Avatar, Alien: Resurrection, etc… Or Charlize Theron in everything she’s in these days…
Or you just want it when you want it and you’re just looking for a reason to complain while holding some imaginary moral high ground.
God damn you people are so predictable.
