With just about two weeks remaining until The Witcher airs on Netflix, promotion of the fantasy epic starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia is in full swing. Today, Netflix showed a short clip during an interview of Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg) with NBC Philadelphia, revealing brand new footage from the show’s third episode.
The clip shows a younger Yennefer arriving to a party in Aretuza and making quite the commotion. Among those who take notice are archmistress Tissaia de Vries (MyAnna Buring), the young mage Istredd (Royce Pierreson), Aedirn’s king Virfuril (Ben Lambert) and sorceress Fringilla Vigo (Mimi Ndiweni) who seems to be in the entourage of the monarch.

The reason why everyone seems dazed isn’t hard to guess. It’s likely that none of them (perhaps not even Tissaia) have seen Yennefer as the powerful bewitching enchantress yet, thinking of her as the sad hunchbacked girl she once was. As a bonus, Netflix has also thrown in a shot of Yennefer as a young disciple prior to her transformation.

Before The Witcher releases on December 20, we can probably expect a few more clips to air and perhaps even a trailer, if the rumours can be believed. As ever, we’ll be covering all news here at Redanian Intelligence, so stay tuned!
I hate Istredd already
