San Diego Comic Con is drawing to a close and while fans are digesting every piece of news that was dropped over the past few days, Entertainment Weekly has decided to publish two new stills from The Witcher for us to geek out over.
Before The Witcher’s Comic Con debut, low-quality versions of the stills had leaked, with many doubting if the photo of Freya Allan (Ciri) was truly for the series. Thanks to the newly released teaser, we can decisively say that it is. See the high quality stills below.
The Witcher releases in December 2019 on Netflix and stars Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Allan as Ciri.
The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
Whilst Ciri doesn’t look as young as she should be, I think the fact that her actress looks way older in her interviews means they’ve done a good job of making her seem younger, and that there’s a lot of room for Ciri to appear to age in the series.
