HBO’s Harry Potter TV series continues to film in its third month. The John Lithgow, Nick Frost, and Paapa Essiedu starring TV series has had some location shoots in Cornwall earlier with our first look at Lithgow’s Dumbledore with new cast members revealed. Today we have another cast reveal, this time the HBO show’s first known centaur.

We’ve learned that actor Jake Curran has been cast as Ronan the centaur in the first season of HBO’s Harry Potter, which adapts The Philosopher’s Stone book. Given that Ronan appears in multiple installments, we can likely expect him to appear in future seasons as well.

In the first book, Ronan along with another centaur called Bane meet with Hagrid, who was investigating the deaths of unicorns. It’s not impossible, given the expanded screentime of eight episodes, that we see more scenes of centaurs in the new series. Hopefully soon we’ll hear about the castings of Bane as well as Firenze.

Jake Curran’s credits include 2025’s Robin Hood series starring Sean Bean, Gangs of London and the upcoming DC film Clayface, where he plays a character called Patches.

In other casting news, we can report that Leigh Quinn (Write Off, Love at First Sight) has been cast in the Harry Potter series in an unknown role.
