House of the Dragon Season 3 Wraps Filming

Filming for the third season of HBO’s House of the Dragon starring Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke began earlier this year in England at Leavesden Studios. As all things come to an end, House of the Dragon Season 3 is not an exception.

After just over six months of filming, production for House of the Dragon Season 3 is now finished. Now comes the phase of post-production and editing for a Summer 2026 release.

HBO boss Casey Bloys recently confirmed that House of the Dragon Season 3 was releasing “just outside the Emmy eligibility window” which closes May 31, 2026. So we’re looking at possibly June 2026.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, an adaptation of Dunk & Egg is also coming to HBO on January 18, 2026, so 2026 is promising to be a very Westeros-heavy year.

Filming for House of the Dragon Season 3 was more contained to the UK this time around as they didn’t travel to Spain to film with any actors this year. It was a rare occasion as most Westeros TV seasons starting from 2015 had scenes filmed in Spain.

New cast of House of the Dragon Season 3 includes Tom Cullen (The Gold) as Ser Luthor Largent, Joplin Sibtain (Andor) as Ser “Bold” Jon Roxton, Barry Sloane (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) as Ser Adrian Redfort, Adam Brown (The Hobbit) as Glendon Footly, Annie Shapero (Red Skies) as Alysanne Blackwood and more.

House of the Dragon Season 3 is in post-production for a 2026 release on HBO. Watch this space for more news!
