It’s October 2025, which means The Witcher Season 4 is officially coming this month. One of the most discussed topics in recent years was how would Netflix handle Ciri’s time with the group of teenagers called The Rats as they’re some of the most disliked characters in the books and do some pretty bad things to Ciri. Now we finally know.
The Witcher won’t entirely shy away from THAT Ciri scene

In Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, Ciri falls into the company of The Rats, a gang of Nilfgaardian orphans who turned to crime. Shortly after she joins them, one of them called Kayleigh tries to sexually assault her. Another one called Mistle chases him away, but finishes what Kayleigh started instead.
Season 4 of Netflix’s The Witcher won’t cut that scene or alter it too much. Instead, it’s only softened a little bit. In the show, Kayleigh does throw himself at Ciri and Mistle does chase him away. After that Mistle gets all handsy with Ciri and asks her if she can stay the night. Ciri is upset and shaking and reluctantly agrees.
After that, like in the books, Ciri and Mistle become a couple for the entire season, until in the finale bounty hunter Leo Bonhart does them part. Last year we even reported that sometime in Season 4, Ciri would get her tattoo, the one she and Mistle get together.
Also last year Freya Allan teased a little bit about what’s going on with Ciri and Mistle in Season 4: ““She has her first experience with romance, if you can even call it that, because it’s not a good relationship. She goes into a very dark part of herself that I think is going to be terrifying to look at.”

In relation to Mistle, Christelle Elwin recently gave an interview in which she talked a little bit about playing Mistle in The Witcher Season 4: “[Mistle] is this amazing complex young woman who chooses her path despite the odds against her. For example, in the challenges she faces, still choosing to love and form relationships in a world that’s been so cruel to her. She never chooses to give up. This is one of the things that connected me most to her.“
She continued: “I had to totally empathise with all of Mistle’s more questionable choices, but when it all clicked, it taught me how much empathy I’m really capable of. Empathy in the place of judgement is maybe the most helpful tool an actor can have, in my opinion.“
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
