By We’re a month away from the release of the fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher, which will see Liam Hemsworth debut as Geralt of Rivia, taking over from Henry Cavill. One other major addition to the cast for the fourth season is Laurence Fishburne as Regis and today we have some curious info about the barber-surgeon.
An animated Regis flashback
As we’ve already mentioned before, the fifth episode of The Witcher Season 4 will be centered around Geralt’s Hansa making a fish soup. It’s a beloved scene from Andrzej Sapkowski’s books that has been expanded into almost an entire episode.
During this episode we’ll see several flashbacks like we’ve already revealed. Jaskier will get a mini-musical, Cahir will tell the story of how he used to care for a hedgehog-like creature that became the Emperor of Nilfgaard and Milva will tell her traumatic story about her abusive stepfather.
Those scenes will be live-action, meanwhile Regis’ flashback will be special as it will be animated. It’s described as very similar in style to those comic/animation intro from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
In the flashback, Regis will tell his story, who he is, how he got there and about the vampiric society.
The fish soup episode is shaping up to be a very interesting one. As the new season is only a month away, the wait won’t be long at all.
