Season 4 of Netflix’s The Witcher is only over a month away, releasing on October 30, 2025. The new season will see Liam Hemsworth make his debut as Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill. As usual, we’re here to provide updates on the final two seasons. Today we’ll talk of those who will leave us after this season, so it will be rather spoilery.
MAJOR SPOILERS: DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WISH TO BE SPOILED
The Witcher Season 4 promises to be rather deadly

Two out of three major storylines in The Witcher Season 4 promise to be quite deadly for a lot of characters. Let’s start with what’s in the books and the surprising one is just below.
Back in the finale of Season 3, Ciri meets the Rats, a group of six teenagers forced to become a gang of thieves during the Nilfgaardian war.
Ciri will spend the entirety of Season 4 with the Rats. During that time they’ll make some powerful people angry and the vicious bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, played by Sharlto Copley, will be sent after them. If you’ve read the books, you know how that ends.
At the end of the season, Bonhart finally catches up with the Rats. None of them survive and Ciri is taken captive. That’s where her Season 5 will begin, as we’ve reported earlier this year when they were filming the immediate next parts of that story in Cape Town, South Africa.
Some fan-favorites will leave us too

But that’s not the only deadly storyline in The Witcher Season 4. The other one is Yennefer’s and everything concerning her quest to bring down Vilgefortz. He’s a hard mage to bring down and Yennefer needs all the help she can get. That is why Vesemir, Lambert and Coen are asked to help in an upcoming battle between the proto-Lodge and Vilgefortz’ forces.
Unfortunately, several characters who don’t die in the books, don’t survive this storyline. Vesemir is one of them, after a deadly duel with Vilgefortz himself.
Keira Metz and Margarita Laux-Antille, two sorceresses, who would become members of the Lodge in the books, also don’t survive. The Lodge does end up being formed after these events, but without them, unfortunately. Istredd, who was taken captive by Vilgefortz last season, is also very likely gone.
As for the third main storyline, Geralt’s, we haven’t heard of any major casualties of this nature, only the minor enemies Geralt and his Hansa encounter.
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
