The first season of HBO’s upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is still deep in post-production with no release date confirmed. Nevertheless, we can still keep finding out new details about the first season. For instance, the presence of flashbacks.
Chloe Lea cast as Dunk’s childhood friend

We’ve learned that Chloe Lea has been cast as Rafe, Dunk’s childhood friend in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. This seemingly confirms the inclusion of flashbacks of young Dunk during his time in King’s Landing’s Flea Bottom before Ser Arlan of Pennytree meets him.
There isn’t a lot mentioned about those days in the books, so we may expect the adaptation to flesh some of that out. Perhaps more scenes where Dunk and Rafe were up to no good.
Chloe Lea’s recent credits include roles in such projects as Dune: Prophecy, Great Expectations, Foundation and more.
The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is expected to be released sometime in the first months of 2026 with Season 3 and 3 already reportedly renewed and getting prepped to be filmed back-to-back next year.

As always, we will follow the filming of A Knight of the Seven Kingdom as closely as we can, so expect more casting news and behind-the-scenes details in the coming months.
