New Witcher Casting Implies Toussaint in the Final Season

Production for the final season of Netflix’s The Witcher is currently underway with its second half being filmed as we speak. The fourth season that will see Liam Hemsworth’s debut as Geralt replacing Henry Cavill still has no release date, but thankfully we get these updates while Netflix sleeps on the marketing. Today we have a casting that implies a beloved location being finally visited in Season 5.

We’ve learned that actor Andy Apollo (The Diplomat, Black Mirror) has been cast as Reynart de Bois-Fresnes and will be introduced somewhere in the middle of the final season.

In Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, Reynart was a Toussaint knight who first appears just outside the borders of the duchy when he and his fellow knights save Geralt and his Hansa from an attack. Right afterwards, they are escorted to Beauclair by Reynart as well as Milton de Peyrac-Peyran (whom The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine playes surely know) and given food and shelter. Geralt and friends stay there for a few months and Reynart becomes the witcher’s friend as time passes.

We haven’t yet been able to confirm how much and in what form all of this is actually being adapted in The Witcher Season 5, but nevertheless it’s a good start to know that someone from Toussaint is actually being included.

We already suspected the inclusion of Toussaint earlier in the year when production travelled to South Africa with all its beautiful vineyards and mountain, but to our knowledge Liam and co. weren’t invloved in South African shoots. Three out of four weeks were dedicated to Ciri and one week to Yennefer, Triss and Sigrdrifa. That said, the team could have taken many establishing shots for Toussaint, while the rest would be shot in the studio.

The Witcher Season 4 is in post-production for an October 30, 2025 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
