It’s been exactly 10 years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released back in 2015. Two story expansions were released afterwards and that was largely it, with the exception of the next-gen remaster that was released back in 2022. Now a new rumor suggests that there will be another expansion.
New rumor suggests a new Witcher 3 story DLC planned for 2026

This should go without saying, but we’ll say anyway: take this with a grain of salt as none of this has been officially confirmed. With that out of the way, we’ll proceed.
The rumor comes from Polish youtuber Boris Nicepolak who has been known to drop some accurate CDPR insider info in the past, hence why this is getting attention. On the podcast Rock i Borys, he said that there is a new story-driven DLC in development for The Witcher 3, outsourced to Fool’s Theory, who will also be making The Witcher 1 remake.
“From the information we’ve gathered, it appears that the announced secret project CD Projekt RED is doing with Fool’s Theory is the story-driven DLC for The Witcher 3. And this is information confirmed by several independent sources.“
On top of that, Nicepolak said that he discovered info about a release date for 2026, but he couldn’t confirm it. He also explained the timeline of the upcoming releases: “First mods for consoles, then DLC for The Witcher 3, then The Witcher 4, and then The Witcher 1 remake.“
The aforementioned mods for consoles is referring to official mod support announced by CDPR that will be coming later this year.
Again, take this with a huge grain of salt for now. If the DLC info is accurate, could it be related to the mods? Perhaps a collection of official quests to bring attention to the mod support? Perhaps even a Bethesda-type mod store? After all, is it realistic to expect a full Hearts of Stone/Blood and Wine-size DLC for a 10-year old game?
We’ll have to wait and see. Or not.
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
