By Skellige is a beloved location among fans of The Witcher 3 game, having a major part of its story taking place there. In Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, Skellige features less prominently and only in one book. In the Netflix series, we only saw glimpses of Skellige for 3 minutes back in the finale of the third season. It looks like we’ll see more of Skellige in the final season.
Kate Dickie cast as Sigrdrifa in The Witcher Season 5
We’ve learned that Kate Dickie has been cast as Sigrdrifa in the final season of The Witcher. Sigrfrida is a priestess in the Temple of Freya, a goddess the Skelligans worship. Specifically the temple is on Hindarsfjall and The Witcher 3 players have surely visited it.
In the books, there is a brief storyline where Yennefer has to flee the Lodge of Sorceresses and ends up in Skellige, meeting Crach an Craite and later Sigrdrifa. Yennefer visits the temple and has a very memorable sequence there. We can’t say whether this is what Netflix is adapting or using the locations for something else, though.
Kate Dickie will be best known to fantasy fans as the actress who portrayed Lysa Arryn in Game of Thrones. Additionally her projects include The Witch, Tinsel Town, Loki and more.
More Skelligans and other cast in The Witcher Season 5
Aside from Sigrdrifa, there are more cast members joining as Skelligans in Season 5. One of them is Bobby Rainsbury (Blood of my Blood) playing a girl named Gunhild. As far as we understand, Gunhild is one of the priestesses at the Temple of Freya.
The other one we have mentioned before: Adam Trussell (Vikings: Bloodlust) as a character named Vifindir. We don’t know who that is, but it sounds like a Skelligan name.
Other than that we have Jamie Michie (Baby Reindeer) and Una Byrne (Kojja) joining the final season. Michie also looks like he could be playing a Skelligan.
Aside from them we have William Bassoumba (Yes-Man), Arinder Sadhra (Toxic Town), Isabel Mackinson (Everything I Know About Love) and Robert Eades (Count Abdulla) being cast in Season 4 that will come out sometime this year.
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
