2025 is the year when Netflix’s The Witcher ends all production with the final season scheduled to film this year. Seasons 4 and 5, that will debut Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, were renewed back to back and intended to film back to back as well. Season 4 wrapped in October 2024 and now the preparations for the final season have begun.
Filming schedule of The Witcher Season 5 is now known

The Witcher Season 5 is now in pre-production with some cast members already on site at Longcross Studios doing some stunt training and costume fitting. Liam Hemsworth isn’t among them just yet.
Cameras are scheduled to start rolling for The Witcher Season 5 in late March and production is currently scheduled to end in September 2025. Season 4 might release around that time, so if it releases before they wrap, we can expect the cast to have a break in order to do promotion for Season 4.
Writing for Season 5 has been complete for many months now with the writers team being almost exactly the same as Season 3 and Season 4, with the exception of Haily Hall, who didn’t write for either S4 or S5 due to her being busy with her The Rats: A Witcher’s Tale spinoff and later boarding a new series called Imperfect Women.
A new addition for Season 5 is Tracy Bellomo, whose writing credits include Dollhouse, The 100, How to Get Away With Murder and others.
Netflix of course hasn’t announced any release dates for Season 5, but knowing the filming schedule, anyone can look at it and say it will probably be around Summer/Fall 2026.
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
