The big elephant in the room about The Witcher Season 4 continues to be the recasting of Geralt of Rivia. Going from Henry Cavill to Liam Hemsworth will be a major point of conversation when the season air next year. We already know how The Witcher will address that, but there will be one other recasting of a fan-favorite character in Season 4.
Vesemir is back in The Witcher Season 4, but not Kim Bodnia

We’ve reported over the last few months that Lambert and Coen will be back in The Witcher Season 4 with both Paul Bullion and Zates Atour reprising their roles. Since then we’ve learned that Vesemir is back as well, but sadly it won’t be Kim Bodnia who plays him. We don’t yet know who has replaced Bodnia as Vesemir, but we’ll keep trying to find out.
UPDATE: Kim Bodnia’s representatives provided comment for RadioTimes that he won’t be back as Vesemir and explained why: “Kim will not return as Vesemir as his current shooting diary didn’t fit in with Netflix’s shooting schedule of The Witcher Season 4.“
Kim Bodnia was a standout in The Witcher Season 2, bringing the fan-favorite Vesemir to life, even when some of the writing choices weren’t a match to his immense acting abilities. Whoever we’ll see in his place in Season 4, he’ll have big shoes to fill.
The reunion between Geralt and his witcher brothers is shaping up to be more and more interesting with every detail. We know it was filmed around the first half of this summer, which means roughly around Block 2 of Season 4 (episode 3 or 4), but that’s only a guess. In any case, we’ll see Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt interact with all of his surviving brothers.

The Witcher Season 4 wraps in just a few weeks and will go on a four-month break, then start filming the fifth and final season. In the meantime, we’ll try and find out who plays Vesemir and we’ll have Sirens of the Deep on top of everything in February.
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
