New The Witcher Season 4 Cast Members Revealed

The Witcher Season 4 entered production mid-April, and is now close to the finish line. Liam Hemsworth, Freya Allan, and Anya Chalotra have filmed the vast majority of their scenes, and many of the show’s supporting cast have already announced that they have wrapped their part of filming. Even so, some new castings are yet to be discovered, and today we will reveal five new cast members joining Season 4.

Reece Alexander-Putinas as Commander Vascoigne

Reece Alexander Putinas is a British actor with experience in the film and television industry. Putinas is known for his role in Harry Potter spinoff film Fantastic Beasts, and his roles in shows such as Harlots and I Am a Killer.

In The Witcher Season 4, Putinas will portray the character Commander Vascoigne, who appeared in the novels that serve as the source material for the series. In the books, Vascoigne was the commander of the Redanian Intelligence dungeon of Drakenborg, where supporters of Nilfgaard are taken to be tortured or executed. Assuming Vascoigne will serve a similar role in the show, we can expect Putinas to act opposite of Graham McTavish’s Dijkstra and Cassie Clare’s Philippa.

Putinas will appear in an episode directed by Alex Garcia Lopez, so either episodes 5 or 6, or both.

Joelle Rae as an Elf

Joelle Rae is a young actress who’s best known for her role in the show Get Even. She has also appeared in shows such as Emmerdale Farm, Startstruck, and The Larkins. She has also appeared in films like The Gallery.

In The Witcher Season 4, Rae has been cast as an Elf. We don’t know what her character’s name is nor what role she will serve, sadly.

Though some fans may rush to conclude Rae might be Lodge sorceress Ida Emean, it is more likely that Rae will be a very different supporting character with a brief appearance in the show. What we can pint out is that Rae does have archery skills that will likely come handy in The Witcher.

Grahame Fox in an Unkown Role

Grahame Fox is an experienced Welsh actor with three decades of experience in the film, television, and video game industries. Fox has appeared in films such as Mission Impossible: Fallout, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania, and Eternals and shows such as The Bill, Casualty, and Game of Thrones where he portrayed Ralf Kenning.

Though Fox’s role in The Witcher Season 4 is as of yet unconfirmed, we do have a clue. Fox was present for filming near Lake Padarn in Snowdonia, Wales. The scenes filmed there were adapting the build-up to the Battle of the Bridge, where Geralt and his followers find themselves trapped between the Lyrian and Nilfgaardian armies.

Considering the location where he filmed, atop the hills facing the lake, it’s possible Fox is one of the archers that fire at Geralt’s ferry from the banks of the Yaruga River. Alternatively, Fox could be a commander or general of either the Nilfgaardian or Lyrian army.

Luisa Guerreiro in an Unknown Role

Luisa Guerreiro is a physical comedy actress, a puppeteer, a motion-capture artist, a creature performer, and a musical theatre performer.

On television, she has experience in shows such as A Discovery of Witches and Purgatory. She has also lent her talents to many video games, including Baldur’s Gate III, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Disco Elysium.

Though we don’t know Guerreiro’s role at this stage, it’s possible this role will utilize her unique talents. To be more specific, she may possibly portray one of the sentient creatures Geralt could meet in Season 4, but we’ll wait and see if we can confirm her role.

Phillip Edwards in an Unknown Role

Phillip Edwards is an actor and stand-in who has already worked on the show before, in Season 2, where he was a stand-in for a dwarven or gnomish character.

Edwards is expected to portray a similar role in Season 4 of The Witcher, perhaps a member of Zoltan’s band of dwarves or a stand-in for one of them.

The Witcher Season 4 is in production for a 2025 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book has a planned Winter 2024/2025 release with The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep anime set for a late 2024 release as well.
