By It’s been some time since we had news on the next Witcher book from Andrzej Sapkowski after his initial announcement last year. Now Sapkowski himself gave another, very good update on the status of the new Geralt adventure.
Andrzej Sapkowski confirms the new Witcher book is finished
In a new interview with Chimeres, Andrzej Sapkowski confirmed that he’s done writing the new Witcher book and that it took him two years, give or take. “I have no plans right now. I finished the book. It took me maybe two years, something like this.“
Last year Sapkowski confirmed that the book will be standalone and will be about Geralt: “The book is directly about Geralt, but I won’t say more. […] It is outside the pentalogy.“
When will we have the book? Last time Sapkowski spoke about that, the plan was to release it this upcoming Winter.
Asked whether this book will lead to more entries in the saga, he said: “No, that’s not my plan now. This new book is going to be a standalone but…maybe, who can say.“
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
