By Filming for the fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher is in full swing with multiple units working hard inside and outside the studios. We’ve already had our first look at Ciri in the new season, but her transformation goes even further in the new season.
Ciri gets a tattoo and a new haircut in The Witcher Season 4
We’ve heard that in the last several weeks they filmed the scene where Ciri gets her tattoo on her thigh. It is our understanding that this is also where she’ll get a new haircut, after spending time with The Rats.
In the books, Ciri and the Rats temporarily take over a tattoo artist’s shop and get him to make tattoos for them. Mistle gets a red rose on her upper inner thigh. She and Ciri are in a relationship at this point and Ciri decides to get a matching tattoo. Not long after, the Rats encounter Leo Bonhart and the rest is history.
In the show, the scene was filmed for Block 2 or episode 3 or 4. At the moment we don’t know which episode does Bonhart perform his pest control against rats, but it shouldn’t be too long.
The tattoo can be seen on Ciri in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt during her brief stay in Skellige. The player has the option to choose whether the tattoo means anything to Ciri after all those years.
Regarding Ciri’s new haircut, we’re told it’s a simple shoulder length cut, nothing too crazy, but still shorter than what we saw in earlier photos from the scene where the Rats attack the baron’s daughter’s carriage.
This and a lot more of her story, Ciri tells Vysogota, an old man who she meets later chronologically, but at the moment we don’t have information whether Vysogota is a character in the Netflix series.
Filming for The Witcher Season 4 is expected to last until late October/early November 2024. Then, a short break and onto Season 5.
