By For this week, the cast and crew of the fourth season of The Witcher has been busy at Waverley Abbey, England filming a sequences with a refugee camp. That was the location where we first had a look at Laurence Fishburne as Regis. Now, it seems they are filming the next stage of that chapter.
New Nilfgaardian armor spotted
It feels like a dejà vu, but it isn’t. Notice the armbands of these fine gentlement dressed in all black. We have once again new outfits for the Nilfgaardian troops thanks to UnboxPHD. First we had them all black in Season 1, but they weren’t very liked, so for Season 2 and 3 we saw different versions, looking more medieval, albeit more golden than black.
Now we have Nilfgaardian armors black again. That said, we don’t know if this is meant to be a complete overhaul of the Nilfgaardian armors again, or if it’s only a specific division within the army.
So what are Nilfgaardians doing here? Right after Regis has his iconic scene with the horseshoe at the refugee camp, Nilfgaard attacks. All of Geralt’s Hansa is there, but during the attack, Geralt and Jaskier get separated from the rest. Geralt gets knocked out by a horse and when he comes to, he finds himself and Jaskier captured by Temerians, who beat the Nilfgaardian troops.
With Laurence Fishburne’s Regis being there the previous days and the Nilfgaardians on June 20, it seems like they were filming the attack with other scenes likely following later.
With filming happening in the more enclosed area of the ruins, no photos of the cast were possible, unfortunately. So no Hansa photo today. Better luck next time.

The Witcher Season 4 is in production for a 2025 release. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book has a planned Winter 2024/2025 release with The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep anime set for a late 2024 release as well.
