June is almost upon us which means A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will soon start filming. We already have our Dunk and Egg in Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell. Now George R. R. Martin is teasing more new cast to come, as he wrote on his Not a Blog.
Lots of roles already cast

Martin teases that many roles have already been cast for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. He wrote: “Most of the auditions — not all, but most — are done, and we should be able to announce some more cast members shortly. “
He continued: “We have our Tanselle, Steely Pate, Baelor Breakspear, the Laughing Storm, a couple of Fossoways, Aerion Brightflame (boo, hiss), Prince Maekar, and the rest. “
Martin also teases the different tone that this series will have: “THE HEDGE KNIGHT will be a lot shorter than GAME OF THRONES or HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, with a much different tone… but it’s still Westeros, so no one is truly safe.“
As always, GRRM loves visiting the sets, so he intends so swing by in July. Finally, he hopes to write more Dunk & Egg stories by the time HBO adapts all three novellas and runs out of source material, which is a bit of a deja vu. Martin of course clarifies, after The Winds of Winter is released.
As previously announced, the Dunk & Egg series will have 6 episodes and will release Late 2025.
House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere on HBO in June 2024 and filming for The Hedge Knight starts then as well. We will keep following both shows, so stay tuned!
