By The fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher has been greenlit alongside the fifth, which will be the final season of the fantasy series. The new seasons will debut Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia with Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey returning.
Freya Allan mentally finished, but excited for the end
While promoting her Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes film, Freya Allan spoke to Inverse about her feelings regarding The Witcher coming to and end after five seasons.
“I was so kind of finished with it mentally. Initially the challenge was thinking that I had to do two more. It’s going to be the end of a massive chapter, which I’m excited for and ready for. But I think when I actually get to it, I’m going to be shocked at how much that hits me.”
There’s still work to do, though. Season 4 has just started filming and Freya didn’t get much to film before embarking on her promo tour for Apes. She also teased about her Season 4 arc in The Witcher:
“This is the storyline that I’ve been wanting and most excited me from the beginning of the show,” Freya says speaking of the Rats.
“Ciri obviously has changed throughout, but we really see a different Ciri in this one. By the end of the last season she’s gone through so much that it’s the last straw. And I think she kind of ends up trying to reside in this other version of herself, and … she kind of enters a zone of just, ‘I’m just going to be brutal because I’m sick of the world being brutal to me.’”
The Witcher Season 4 is has been out since October 30, 2025. Andrzej Sapkowski’s new Witcher book Crossroads of Ravens is available internationally since September 30, 2025. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 4 is now in full production.
