Season 3 of Netflix’s The Witcher is all but confirmed

A whole Covid lifetime ago, back in 2019, Netflix renewed The Witcher for a second season ahead of the first season’s release date. But even before that rumours from TV and film industry insiders have been circulating that Netflix has been generous enough to grant Lauren Hissrich and Co. not one, but a whole two seasons after the first. No one had any solid proof that season three will be happening however. Until now, that is.

We’re happy to reveal that season three of The Witcher has been added to the database of the Writers Guild of America. It’s all but officially confirmed now and all we need is the announcement from Netflix.

To remind you, back in July 2019, insider KC Walsh claimed that The Witcher got the “Sabrina treatment” and was greenlit to three seasons instead of just one. There wasn’t much doubt that season three would happen with the hype and success of the first season, but it’s nice to get something solid on the matter.

When will we even see Season three, you might ask? Well, we won’t see season two until the second half of 2021, so it would be 2022 at the earliest for season three.

It will be a long ride, but for now The Witcher‘s Season two is in production and Redanian Intelligence will be watching.
